Abstract: The historical revelation of the emergence and development of transnational corporations has expanded not only their inherent logic and necessity but also their objective social foundation. Based on the macro-social background of globalization and society’s rapid development, this article not only systematically explains that the theoretical foundation of multinational production exists but also analyzes its globalization and integration, regionalization and offensive strategies  and strategic alliances based on the new definition of multinational companies. In the meantime, this article not only points out that multinational companies in the era of globalization must be implemented using the global “comprehensive, three-dimensional” strategy in order to achieve better development, but also discusses the strategic choice of its purpose and conditions for success, and provides workable new ideas and an operational framework for multinational companies facing the reality of global competition and development.

Key words: globalization; TNCs; theoretical foundation; strategic choice
